This is a great interactive little Flash map (click on "Downloading" to make it full screen) that shows information up to April 2012 and gives very interesting interactive info such as religious breakdown, main centers of insurrection, where the Syrian refugee camps are in Turkey, the number of refugees and their geographic origin, and proximity of other countries such as the US' military bases in the region.
